Hello all, just had to ask if the lift chain ever has to get replaced? I have a 4 year old 7.5' standard duty western.
    Thanx

Mine has been on for about 20 years, no problems yet

I just replaced mine last year. The reason was that I did everything else to it when I rebuilt it. I have heard of them breaking eventually, but have never known of one first hand.

One thing that I WILL suggest. Do a little measuring, and get yourself a #8 hardened bolt and a nut that is long enough to go through 2 of your links of chain, and small enough to fit THROUGH the links. Keep this in your glovebox or wherever just in case you ever have a chain break. you will be able to just bolt two links back together again, and you're good to go.

My luck the bracket would break off the A frame.
