I bought some replacement headlamps for my older Fisher plow. Installed one and it fits and works fine.

But I noticed later that the manual calls for a 2E1 Sealed Beam type--mine are a different lens type.

I tried Googling lens types but am finding no info. What exactly is a 2E1 lens? Why would Fisher specify this? Is it important?

Is this a glass or plastic lens?

    Thanks for filling me in.

2E1 is just the DOT light style, 2E1's are square, sealed beam, duel filament with a 3 prong plug configuration..

    for example:
HP6545 are all 2E1 style lights.

The H4666 are the most common # which is probably what you purchased.
