    Does anyone know if you can wire the lights off/on to just work on the switch that comes with kit without having them come on when you put the truck in reverse? Thanks for your help.

    if you want your rear spot lights to work off a switch .
    all you need to do is wire them to a power then threw your switch and mount them making sure you have a good ground .

    If the kit uses a relay.use a switch on the ground leg of the relay. Use the positive lead off the backup lights to trigger the relay. If it has no relay you can use a 30 amp fog light relay that all the part stores have. Don't use the backup switch to supply the power to the lights. The switch / circuit is not designed to flow that many amps. It's not easy to change the switch out on most trucks.

    Trigger Circuit: Light power supply:
    -- lead ------- ./ . -------switched---------------------> Relay .+ supply lead from battery
    + lead from backup lights --------------------------> / . + to lights ------->
