Works fine now without a diode. I guess its a reliability issue though? Want to make sure its correct. Where does the diod go? What size/value??

If my Touch pad had diode? Back in 1999 my Meyer E-60 came with a touch pad & 2 cyclinders.
I couldn't see it on the wiring or inside when repairing shorts. After getting to be 12 years old control pad no problems just wires starting to break in the coating causing shorts.
