I have a friend who wants to sell his JD snowblower and I am wondering what it is worth. It's a '97 model, 8 horse, 26" width, elec. start. He says the cable to adjust the chute is broken, it is near new (I've seen it), and hardly been used. Says he paid $1200 for it and thinks it should be worth $600-$700.

He would like to trade for services (I Already mow his lawn and plow his driveway).

What do you think good deal of not?

It seems to be a fair price. I would buy it for around $500-$600.
