    Just bought a 1990 Ford F-350 with a "Pathfinder" 8 f. x 29” (27.25” pushing surface) steel, trip-edge, power angle snowplow.

I'll be plowing primarily a shale driveway, some dirt driveways and some gravel driveways.

The plow does not have skid shoes.

Do I have to buy the skid shoes from Pathfinder?
Or are skid shoes from different mfrs interchangeable?
Is there a certain type of skid shoe that will work better on shale, dirt or gravel surfaces as opposed to asphalt surfaces?
Where's a good source to buy skid shoes?

Thanks for any help you can give.
