Looking to step up my plowing business beyond some local driveways. Can someone recommend an insurance company in Mass that will cover snowplowing and whatever insurance is needed?

Good luck with that, insurance companies in Mass want nothing to do with you once you tell them you are snow plowing commercial lots. And they really want nothing to do with you if you say you provide de-icing services.

When my father had his plow we had to have commercial plates (since the truck was clearly being used to make money) along with commercial vehicle insurance, which then had our snowplowing insurance in it. Then we had a commercial general liability insurance for the company that also covered snow plowing.

Cant remember what company we had.

Searay, contact a local independent insurance agent in your area that specializes in contracting insurance. The bigger, the better. You will
need General Liability (GL) insurance (for the slip/fall claims), truck insurance (for injury and damage caused by the plow) and possibly workers compensation (varies by state).
