I have several clients where the ice and snow builds up because the areas are shaded or do not get enough sun. They never melt unless someone continuously shovels it. I am trying to design a solar melting device or a type of reflector to use the sun. I have also seen heated mats but they are almost $1000.00. Anybody have any ideas, opinions, etc..?? thank you.

Why are they wanting to use the deck where you are this time of year?

    ice on decks

many of the places: The snow falls so hard and plentiful that it ruins sides of houses, windows, decks, etc.. I witnessed snow and ice falling which put a 2 foot by 2 foot hole in a deck.

Plan on doing a lot of shoveling. With the snow you guys get, I can not even see the use of a snowblower on them.
