    What causes metal cuttings in Western snow plow hydraulic system

    Most often the motor.

    It's most often the pump.

    sometimes shavings are left in the system from assembly.
    IF, if this is the first time you have cleaned the screen it could be from that.

    If not id be looking at the hydro pump
    As most electric motors are not submerged in the hydraulic fluid, so any shavings it may/could make will not end up in the fluid.
