hub removal

    Trying to remove the axle shaft from the hub on 02 sierra. Rusted on tried hammering and heating with torch no go. any ideas? al;so tried soaking in wd-40 and broke a puller

    What are you trying to do , remove the hub bearing , or the axle shaft ?. Also what have you done so far ?

    some times thay get frozen in the hub. only ever had 2-3 do it on me in 10 years.

    prob have to buy new c/v shaft and wheel bearing / hub unit.

    and when i have them apart i coat them in never seize.


    also here a good wheel bearing / hub removale setup.


    wheel bearing / hub removal on rust belt trucks.

    remove 4 bolts 3/4 of the way.

    then take air hammer with center punch bit or the lisle tools bit made for this.

    hammer on each bolt evenly and work it out.

    i have one of these and love it to death. makes removale much much faster and dosnt hurt the bolt heads yet for me.
