Smoke or Clear lexon with a front edge & sticky Velcro on the bottom & soft part over the laptop to keep in place.

    <a href="http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/h278/mchur01/?action=view&current=DSCN0746b.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h278/mchur01/DSCN0746b.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Made a small holder for the power supply to. I was gonna paint everything, but got lazy.

Make sure you prefit everything together tight and in the position you want b4 u mount it, Mine is a litle loose so I can move it closer or tilt it, but it takes some force to do it. Thats how I cracked the tray this year. I have been useing this mount for 2 seasons now and have made others, no one has lost a laptop off them yet. thet are very sturdy.

Just a piece of thin stainless cut, bent and mounting holes drilled. Attatche to the top with a screw that was already there. Simple and cheap.

Good idea for the camera, that is the same laptop mount i made. But i put a back to mine, added a piece of velcro to hold the keyboard down. And also put something rough over the bottom( where the keyboard sits) they tend to slide around.

Also, about 4" off the base, i put a union. This way you dont have to remove the screws everytime you want to take it out. Just use to wrenches or your hands. Put it in a place that it is not going to interfere with you. There is going to be a 4" piece of pipe sticking out.

just off the top of my head u could make it thinner and longer and use a hose clamp to attatch to the mirror arm.

yes it is a scanner, its a mobile scanner made for vehicle use. Make sure you check local and state laws!!!!!! if you would like to carry one. In michigan you havve to be licensed by the state police.

You need the camera mount so you dont have to hold the camera. And so you dont take shaky pictures. The laptop is for a navigation program. You can plow out with these types of programs. Actually highlight from one job to another. And most importantly, you take the picture of you plowing then post it on plowsite. ;)

Well I have always carried a camera with me never know when you might get a good shot, but this year I started using it on a reg. basis due to one customer who says we always hit his garage door on purpose he even tried to pick a fight with me in the drive when I tried to walk away and b4 it was over the cops ended up there. Needless to say someone else does it now and he pulls the same crap with them, WACKO. Trust me if I hit the door it wouldnt b there anymore. The laptop makes tracking and billing a breeze plus mapping and other things. When we r done plowing all the logs download to the desktop and its done, no more paperwork other than mailing.

Do you use a specific program for the logging? or do you just log a "gps trail" so you know where you were or a custom made database?

Sounds like some of the stuff we use in the towing industry for dispatch / clearing / logging calls.

I use MS Streets and Trips with GPS for general mapping and driving directions. Also makes estimating / billing towed millage easy.

And with mobile internet you can do things between calls like post on PlowSite :)

We use a invoiceing program to track and then when we get down then when done download the files to the desktop. The program does all the udateing for each customer.
