    Hey guys,

I often see on here comments like, " i got a call from xyz company wanting me to bid on a property" how do you guys get your name out there? Is it because of affiliations to SIMA or something? I mean i just scope lots that I would be interested in and call them directly...but how do I get a chance to bid on the big boy lots, where equipment gets involved...I would love to grow from a 4 truck company to something that actually has the potential of bringing in some good money??

Look forward to your comments and suggestions

Thanks Guys (and have a safe upcoming plow season)

Big lots do NOT mean better money.....Usually just the opposite!!!!

But you were able to get to the point of having all that equipment. I used to plow for friends of mine for years, that had 5 enormous accounts on the same road, they still have those today. We are not friends anymore so I can't ask them. I'm not looking to get huge, just would like some larger seasonals so I can justify getting some larger equipment. I don't landscape so I have no need to get loaders, or bobcats, and etc...if I did, i could probably rent them out during the spring-fall seasons..

Well besides working your a$$ off, you can contact and sign up with all the large national property management companies. But be careful with those companies, bigger is not always better.

I think you can answer your question yourself by figuring out how you grew to a mutli truck company rather than just a single truck company.

Advertise, get out there and network, etc. You are the only way to get your name out there and get noticed.

I have found if you really want to work for the nationals, just advertise in the yellow pages. I never got a call from any of them untill I put an ad in the yellow pages. Now half of my phone calls in the month of October is from a national company trying to get me to do work for them so I can go bankrupt!
