How to check if truck had plow?

    Looking at buying a ford f350 4x4 used. Any way to tell if the previous owner had a plow on it? What should I look for? This truck is about 180 miles away and the dealer said he didn't know.

    I would imagine there would be some holes in the frame in the front.

    Look for wear marks or fresh paint on the frame. Look for holes in the dash or cab area where a controller might have been mounted. Best bet would be the wear marks though...

    if the bumper is cut where the mounts go

    That would come just as easily from just driving around.

    And what others said, look for wear marks and such on the frame, or a cut out or missing air dam (plastic piece under the bumper). Most trucks these days don't need holes drilled in the frame for plows, they come with them from the factory, so that isn't a dead giveaway.

    painted frame were the mount was, random hole in fire wall for wiring, holes in dash and floor were the controler might have been mounted, valance cut for the mount to clear, alot of rust underneath the truck.
