how much sand/salt weigh

    does anyone know how much 1.25 yards of sand/salt 50/50 weighs im getting a fisher poly-caster on my f-250 and i wanna see how much i can handle with out adding leafs on the back

    found this.....damp sand weighs 3240 lbs. per cubic yard
    dry sand will weigh 2700 ibs. per cubic yard
    wet packed weighs 3510 lbs. per cubic yard
    damp sand is usually moist to the touch, sand can look dry, if you pick up a handful and water drips from it , it will be wet packed. Moisture is going to determine amount of sand to price. You will get more sand the drier it is.

    coarse salt - dry 1,431 cy

    thanx man exactly what i needed looks like ill be adding some leaf springs to the back then. luckily boss is paying for it mostly what well get is pretty good dry stuff but on occasion some damp

    Don't get more springs for the truck go with air bags i have them and I love them Best thing i spent my money on

    I use them on my plow trucks and sanders. Pretty common on wreckers too.
