Just wondering, how long are your solenoids working, and on what kind of plow? Just picked up a couple today after mine seemed to be giving up.

I have a boss plow that has 8 seasons and still has the orginal. Another boss plow would go thru one every years. I really think it has alot to due with the plow install. 8611 with 4 seasons and still going strong.

Both of my trucks are still running everything as it was when it was installed, except the oil. I change that every year.

it all depends, if you are going through them then there might be a underline problem, also if the plow is in heavy use at a lot with tons of back dragging or a complex with a lot of spots then you are more likely to burn one up faster. remember everytime the plows moves the thing gets work Plus they are normally under 20 bucks. I like the new western solenoid its more round like the old motor ones and are supposed to last longer then the tall ones.

Depends on the operator of the plow

I have never had one go bad in 18 years of plowing. Knock on wood.

On my 8' Western I used to go through a couple a year with the joystick controller, I guess I used to hold it in position to long. Since I switched over to the hand held controller last year I have not had to replace it.

B&B, will that one work in Boss or Blizzard, or just a Unimount Western?
