Are you guys in Buffalo getting any snow? The lakeeffect machine has been pounding here since Friday, Southern Jefferson, Northern Oswego has gotten 4-5 feet since Saturday, 40+ mile an hour winds lastnight and today, getting a little break from the snow at the moment but supposed to kick back up tonight and continue for next 5-7 days.

Predicted 3-5" this morning durring rush HR. So they closed the Buffalo schools... Guess what we got? a few blowing flurries. No accumulation at my house.
Predicted another 3-5" for tuesday. Now thay are saying flurries & 1-2" Tuesday night.

The southtowns I guess got hit pretty good.
Need any help? I'm starting to get bored sitting here watching it fall all arround us.
  3. I live 1 mile south of Lake Ontario shore. We have had very strong winds 30-40 mph and snow on and off all day.

Just got in from unplugging a drive that had 3 1/2 foot drift about 70' long and rock hard, wind blown and soft lawn on each side. Took a bit more than 30 mins to do. The most work out my truck has had since pulling 19 tons of hay and wagons home from up the road last August.

If just the wind would come down a bit.

salted parking lot...No matter how many times
    per day 7 days a week !
I gotta plow my bar anyway...........
But what kills me is that MY customers don"t
care if there is 5 foot drifts !!!!!
As long as the lites, door unlocked, j-box on
and a tv on sports and COLD beverages too!
GG knows my deal ! Supposed to get 5-12 inches

NOTE: I do not advocate drinking and driving:
A free ride home is available to my customers
ALWAYS have a sober ride home or a place to

I drove out through western NY last friday on my way to Mentor,OH.
You guy's out west have little if any snow on the ground.

What a difference a year makes as far as who's getting it.

The Grass was still showing on I-90 most of the trip once you got past Syracuse all the way into Ohio.
Ran into some heavy lake effect snows for the ride home so it took an extra 2-3 hrs.
Total trip 17 hours lasted from friday 9am till 2am the next day(went out to pick up a plow I had bought).

Thanks goodness it was all easy driving.

Looked at the seasonal totals thus far into season, Buffalo is ranked toward the bottom as far as New York State metro areas, it seems that Syracuse, Rochester have been experiencing the benefit of the Lake snows so far....

It's been an up and down season, freeeze, warm-up, freeze, warm-up etc......

We've only used Front-Loaders twice for stacking...

The Lake Erie Machine is starting to ice over in parts which is actually helpful so we don't get blasted like last season

Buffalo's totals are generally recorded by the NWS @ the Greater Buffalo-Niagara Airport which is not very indicative of the season totals southward...

For example, We handle the SouthTowns (areas south of Buffalo-Metro) and we have been busier there than North Buffalo, Buffalo Metro......Today Lake effect bands dropped 5-6" south and there were just flurries in the Metro and North areas.......

They did close Buffalo schools Monday which was prudent for what the weather "experts" were calling for----Nothing really happened,

The crew was ready to go to the South for Ski-Doo recreation time, had to make them wait around until the afternoon just in case.... In any case they had lunch on me due to the fact that I delayed them....

We're still not out of the woods so to speak, Looking for another shot perhaps this weekend.... :p
