horn button contacts

    ok my horn quit but when i remote lock it they beep
    so i figure in the column..i've pulled till my fingers hurt
    to get the horn button off but no go.... whats the trick.??
    its an 04 1500 with redundant radio controls:p

    The horn button and wires to it, would be in the clock spring (I think), which also runs wires for the wheel buttons and the airbag. If you are not too sure, take it to your nearest dealer.

    The horn button/air bag is held in place with an internal retainer clip on each side. If you look at the sides of it behind the steering wheel you'll see a small hole on each side. Using two small allen wrenches (or like tools) simultaneously you push in on the clips and pop the air bag assembly out. An extra hand helps.

    But note: BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE SERVICING ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM.
