O.k. I have ment to ask this question for a while so hear it goes.

    On the front bumper
passenger side ,on the support brace in the corner there is a plug?

It is attached to the support bracket for the bumper.
    What is it for?

This truck is my 98, 2500, gas.

    It's not the block heater.

    I haven't looked at the 01

    Sorry for the blurry pic.
It is taken looking up from just in front of the R tire.

It's the blury thing in the middle of the pic...lol

it may be for fog lights if you don't have them from the factory.

yup, i got the stock/factory fog lights.

it does look like it has a place for 3 prongs to plug into it kind of like what a sealed beam head light has.

    if that makes any sense?

    it's a socket/electrical connector (not a plug).
is this the socket for the outside temperature display for the overhead consol?

The temp sensor wiring on the 01 is mounted to the hood then the grill and it has a much smaller plug/ socket.

But I'll compare them ( the 01 & 98) when it gets home tonight.

    thanks for the ideas???

Anyone else have this plug on their truck(I'm suer their is) and is there anything pluged into it?

    Every thing works.
It is attached to the brace for the bumper..

I guess I'll have to take a look at a wiring schematic to find out.

    thanks...
