I was coming home from work today driving down the road. Switched from high beams to low and my plow shut off. I have no power what so ever. I checked the plugs by the grille there tight and not crappy looking. (The plow is new). I also checked the batt conections (new batt) I'm at a total loss. Oh and the controller aint event turning on. Event with the truck running its not doing a thing.

There should be a inline fuse under the dash. Also check the fuse box. I have had people pull power from the fuse box and blow the fuse in the box. Some times this will effect the power on the plow. Good luck

The truck is a 2001 dodge ram 1500. I could not see any inline fuses for the life of me. I checked both fuses in the engine area and inside the cad and only 1 was tapped into. But the fuse was not blown. I spent 40 min looking for fuses and this plow was installed by a dealer.

You need to follow the wires. Find the relays and trace the wires back to the fuse box. The inline fuse usually isn't that far from the fuse box.

Is it a mini fuse rated 5 or 10 amps? Connected to a red wire that goes to the key on pwr source and the other end goes torward the contoller harness? Should be a black fuse holder, blade type with a cap.

Can you test for pwr at the fuse holder with the key on? Test light or voltmeter? If it is the plows mini fuse and there is no pwr there you can trace it back to the pwr source the dealer used and check for pwr or blown fuse there.

first follow the wires from the controller plug there should be a red wire and shortly after that a black fuse holder change it out to a 15 or 20 amp fuse there is a bulletin that truck has switched ground and draws more than the 5 or 10 amp fuse they come with.

Well there should be. Does the wire without a fuse have 12 volts? With the key on? Or are you saying there is no wire? Either way when you go to the dealer have him explain how the wires are run.

I tried switching back to the high beams a few times and it didn't work.

Looked up and down the controller cable for a fuse on the red wire could not find an inline fuse.

I found a fuse inside the truck fuse box and I changed that fuse. It was a wire they had tapped and it did not change the suitation.

Where should there be fuses? After the controller plug and I found the one inside the cab that was tapped into the fuse box.

Does that wire have 12 volts? That is what we are asking. Is that a red wire?
