I am looking at an 04 2500 crew cab with 47000 miles that has mainly been used to haul a good size camper. The owner says the tranny has been fully serviced twice. I drove the truck just in the regular drive gear and it was smooth and solid. Is there anything I can be checking to confirm the tranny is in good shape? Is 16000 a reasonable price for an 04 in good condition? the motor sounds like new, but I am worried about how the tranny can be after all the hauling. I want this to replace my 1500 so I can feel more comfortable getting into a plowing setup.
    Thanks for any assistance!

it's a 6.0 gas 4x4 with towing package and trailer brake. It has the tranny cooler with gauge.

Sounds like a good deal. I am not knowledgeable about what to look for on that era Chevy, maybe someone who is will chime in. Sounds good though.

thanks Kevlars. I have been shopping around for a while and it is hard to find an 03 or newer 2500 with lower miles under $20,000. I have never pulled anything like a camper regularly with a truck so I don't know if that 47000 miles is like 100000+ from regular driving.
