Question about how many tons of sand/salt mix to buy for plowing a 500' x 1250' space. Also, was just quoted for $43 per ton. Does that sound about right?

    Do a "search" on coverage
Price per ton is low for this area.

ok lets do the math. 500 X 1250 divided by 43560 = 14.3480257117 acres X 850 lbs. of mix (approx.) per acre = 12195.8 lbs. of mix divided by 2000 = 6 tons = about 4.7 cu. yds. of 50/50 mix.
i hope i did the math right. if not im sure its close enuff.
