I am trying to calibrate my Salt Dogg spreader. So I ran the spreader for 1 minute at different settings. So I thought I could calibrate my lbs per sq' off of that. So can you check my math.

    1. 5280 (ft in a mile) / 60 ( seconds in a minute/MPH)= 88 (ft traveled per second)

    2. Spread pattern is 15' wide. 88 * 15 = 1320' (covered every second)

    3. The spreader kicks out 240lbs in 60 seconds. 240 / 60 = 4lbs per second

    4. 4lbs / 1320sq' = .003 lbs per square foot at 60mph (i'm not spreading that fast)

    So if I went-

    30mph would be .006 lbs

    15mph would be .009 lbs

So is my math correct or should I go back to school :blush2:

Looks correct to me, except your app rate would be .012 at 15 mph. I calculated differently, same result. 15' spread for 5280 feet is 79,200 sq ft. 240 lbs/79200 sq ft = .003 lbs/ft.

Ha Ha. Very funny. None of his data even contains the number 1!

Don't you realize some newbie could do a search on how to calibrate his spreader, see your smart as$ comment, and say "To heck with this place, I'm going somewhere else".:laughing:
