Today I changed the vertical on our Meyer plow by pulling the top three bolts and draining the water/hydro fluid. Intalled new seal and shaft within pump (pulled the other bottom bolts because of their decaying O-rings) then refilled with fluid. Started pump worked the air out, left and right works, but no pressure ever built in main cylinder (was working before drained). What could be wrong? The we thought we had an air bubble in the bottom of shaft so we pulled the three bolts and reinstalled now nothing happens. Is there a way we are supposted to intall it before fluid? What to do? Note: Breathe cap flows both way, air goes in when cylinder is pushed in and out. Do we just need to keep working right and left cylinders more work out the air or what? It really made me frustrated. Can you help, lost a whole day.

If you didn't replace the O-ring in the sump base that the cylinder rests on (and thus is sealed by to the sump base) then that's why it won't lift. Any time you disturb the lift cylinder in any way you must replace that O-ring, as with any O-ring it's a one time use deal.
