like it said has anyone ever tried to fit a mm2 a arm and blade on the mm1 headgear? i bought a mm2 xblade with a arm. i was intending on putting it on my spare mm1 headgear but the mount is 22" apart on the mm1. the mm2 a arm is about 25"

25 1/8" to be exact. The "a arm" ...You mean A Frame? Yes, it'll fit a mm1 headgear, unfortunately, as you've already found out, you have the shorter / smaller 22240 headgear, you need the taller 22250 headgear. OR, you would need to purchase a different A frame (27597) to marry them. Or....find a MM2 headgear to put them on.....(27454).

    Good luck......

Yeah, that's cause they're usually the whole setups as one could imagine. If your really thinking of putting this on a MM1 headgear, just buy the A Frame new for $675....chances are you're not going to find a better deal...and you already have the headgear sitting around. Do you have the angle rams?

Yes i have pump lights new hoses and the rams...

Im wondering if maybe i could have my local welding shop move the plates in 1.5" on each side and have them set to 22"? Im sure they could gusset them to be just as strong as factory.

I'm not one for hacking and fabbing, but you're right, I'm sure it can be done. Is this an 8' blade..?

Yes... I bought the 8' mm2 xblade that has been on craigslist for a while now. Guy got in an accident and kept just the blade and a frame. Its mint not a mark on it! Paid 700 figured i could use it with my other setup i had becuase i knew the a frame jus pinned up. But now im finding out all this new info on different headgear.

Im not a big fan of hacking up something in as nice of comdition as this either, im hoping i can find somone out there that has a setup for me....

That's going to be a tall order I think....you're going to find someone is selling the whole deal, and you'll spend a min. of $1000 anyway...if not alot more. For $1500 (what you have in it, and a new mm2 headgear) and a couple hours of work, you'll have yourself a perfectly good X blade setup...I'd buy the new MM2 headgear and give it a go.

Let me know if you come up empty, I'll buy it all off you for $700 lol...I see profits in my future. payup
