I recently picked up an older Grotech swing-away spreader. Installed it tonight and when I turned it on, I started at low speed, so I could make sure the controler worked then I'd gradually roll up to full speed. Problem: as soon as you flip the switch to on, it goes right to full speed, just like a regular switch. The voltage does not change at all, at the output of the control box or at the plug for the spreader. The LED lights show the different speeds, butthe spreader doesnt go at the speed the lights show. Anyone have any suggestions??

Probably needs a new rheostat if it has one. Some of the after market catalogs list them.

Ended up I had a ground loop. Extra ground wire removed, problem solved.
