I'm putting a CP8 back together after changing out the hardware, I have the greaseable pivot pins, but in addition is it good to grease the the sector and the king bolt area with some marine grade grease, or would that attract dirt and road salt? Meyer doesn't say to do it in the maintenance manual. But it seems like it would help reduce friction. I did a search here and didn't find too many hits other than greasing the pivot pins.

I always put grease on mine and never had any trouble.
