Salt shortage in Illinois. Cargill mine under Lake Michigan is at 60% capacity. The mine is flooding.

Talk to a local supplier, they've secured enough salt to not run out this year, but, it's going to be at least a 60% price increase.

Municipalities across the state can't get salt. They are being denied by suppliers.

Our indications at this point is the State of Michigan will have about 60%(at best) of the salt contractors will need for an average winter. Those that can stock their entire inventory right now will have a leg up on others. There is a big salt summit in metro Detroit the third week of Aug--we should have a real good idea of our problems then.
