I'm looking at two used trucks- a '97 GMC K3500 Reg. cab and a '99 K2500 Ext. cab. The one ton has a front rating of 4250 and the 3/4 ton has a front rating of 4410. Why does the 3/4 ton have a heavier rating on the front axle than the one ton which is a heavier duty truck? Thanks for your answers.

Do they both have the plow prep option (VYU)?
