I have registered the domain PlowSite.com and sometime between now and next season I will move everything snow to this new site.

You die hard snow guys won't have to put up with turf issues anymore. :)

I kinda liked being able to get to "elements of business" with just a click... will we be able to get to lawnsite with out too much trouble ???

Of course.. it will only be a click away. As a matter of fact I can easily put the elements of business forum on the new site. ( same forum over here... they can interact together )

I like the idea of PlowSite.com but............................

Ditto what John said - I hope access to LS won't be difficult because I like checking out all the forums - sometimes the "turf issues" can be pretty entertaining!

I kinda like the way it is now too. Do you think maybe you could still have the plow forum on lawnsite and plowsite?

As it stands, I rarely visit the "Sponsor links" and think that they, as well as a snow forum, would get more exposure and hits if left here at the Lawnsite "family compound".

For me, I visit about 5 of the forums here, though I'm only active on two or three. I visit the commercial lawn boys to get my smile for the day and realize than no matter how bad the black flies are, I still love my job in the bush, not on the greens. If you change it Chuck, the simplier the connection the better. With the new baby coming, I'm getting sideways glances now as I try to do Lawnsite and Arboristsite in my "spare" time. Spare time is getting rarer.:D

    Comprimise!

Okay, I've heard both sides of the story and I'll sit on the fence for this one.

Heres my opinion ( like anyone cares ;) )

I think Chuck you should keep on expanding like you have with the different sites, and set them up accordingly. Snow Forum looks like a snowplow site (graphics, colors, logo, advertisers) and Lawnsite looks like lawnsite, etc and their are links to go back or forth to either domain.

BUT, like you said there is a way to "share" the forums between both sites, so why not just keep all the forums on all of the sites, but the order they are in will depend on which site your at.

    I.E.

    Plow Site

    1.
    2.
    3. ALl your plow related sections
    4. heavy equip
    5. =welding.
    6.
    7.
    8.
    9. all the truck forums

then lawn and landscape sections, etc.

    Lawnsite would be visa versa

Just a suggestion, the idea is really clear in my head right now, but I think I confused everyone including myself in that post.

    Time to go to bed!

    Over and OUT!

I THINK THAT IT IS BETTER TO KEEP IT THE SAME B/C IT IS INTERESTING TO LOOK AT THE TURF SIDE OF THE BUSINESS

The new site is setup at http://www.plowsite.com

It is not ready for public use yet... if you have any forum / category suggestions please let me know them.

As you can see I will have manufacturer sponsored forums over there. I hope to get a lot of mfg's to support this idea and step up to taking the time to having their own forum. I setup the Boss forum just as an example.

When it is ready all discussions in the snow forum will be mereged over there. Please continue to use lawnsite.com until plowsite.com is ready to go.

I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FORUMS FOR ALL BRANDS OF PLOWS: MEYER, WESTERN, FISHER, ARCTIC, DIAMOND, CURTIS, BOSS, OTHERS AND SEPERATE SALTER BRAND FORUMS.

I the site is not active yet.

Thats what the Snow Plow Manfuacturers category is for.. notice that I have a Boss Plow forum in there. Hopefully I will get most of the major manufacturers to sponsor a their own forum.

Boss is just an example forum.
