fuel pump or fuel regulator

    1996 truck wont startup after it sits all night untill i cycle key four or five times then starts put pressure guage on starts out at 55 then will go up to 60 after a couple of cycles leave key on and pressure will go down very slow clamp off return line and pressure bearly goes down can here regulator when key is cycled running pressure is 54 truck was sitting for five months with out starting had to use ether to start runs fine when started any help

    If you pinched the return line off and it then held pressure then the regulator is shot. Not at all uncommon on the older Vortecs. At one time you couldn't purchase the regulator separately but fortunately you can now. $50 vs $350.
