Cummins is a good engine no doubt, however the powerstroke is no chump either. Either way honestly youd be good to go with either diesel in that model year

A picture of a Ford or a picture of a Dodge would be great.

Beiing that you will get the 6.0 in the 2005 as hard as it is to say this I would go with the Dodge. Simply on engine reliability. Downfalls are the rest of the dodge is a pile of sh*t and the space in the rear of the Ford in much bigger then the Dodge. I know the cummings get great milege. I would post up the VIn number I can run it for you and tell you the warrenty history. This is REALLY important on a 6.0

97-03.5 has the 7.3 GREAT MOTOR! 03.5- 07.5 has the 6.0 JUNK MOTOR
I had the folowwing, 03 04 05 06. My 03 was a pile in the begininng but later was a great truck, 04 junk 05 junk 06 better junk. Ford always has some excuse you tow to much or to hard or to long. bottom line throw some REAL ABUSE at a 6.0 they fall apart, headgaskets, egr coolers oil coolers, coolent bottles etc the list goes on forever. I said many times if this truck I have now ( 08 6.4 ) dosent hold up im done with Ford forever.

yeah i have an 03 with the 7.3. I made sure i got the 7.3, too many horror stories about the early 6ohs.

Hopefully the 6.4 will pull through, it really needs too for fords sake!

    dodge.

if your choice is based on the size of the crew cab then ford but other than that dodge. auto or stick? you can do a lot to the cummins and have a great truck or a little and have a great truck. all depends on what you want out of it.

I can give you my neighbor's number....he is in love with his powerstroke:gunsfiring: NOT, the turbo exploded or something and came through the hood of the truck. He is a die hard Ford guy and he said he is trading it off on a Dodge

The Dodge all the way. The 05's still have the nice interior and they dont have cats. Your not buying the truck your buying the engine. They really are great trucks though.

The 6.0 is too questionable of a motor to buy used and out of warranty.
