Ford 4x4

    What year did Ford start producing 4WD in the F450 550's etc.

    That would be the 99.5 model year. The earlier years were just called super duties . Unless they had an aftermarket conversion done .

    A hunting buddy bought a 97 F450 brand new from the ford dealer it was 4x4

    was it a factory 4x4 conversion tho? they didnt start producing 450's until 99.5 the new body style. antlerart do you know what size tires it has on it?

    Not sure He dont own it any more traded it in of a 99 I'll have to ask him if remembers trades about every 2-3 yrs
    Only reason I remember it Came from factory jack up and it was fun mounting a plow on it
    I mounted the plow for him

    ok,,my bet it was a marmon (sp) conversion. as far as i remember, only 350's were offered in 4x4 from ford. its like the 3500hd from gms. 90-01 never offered in 4x4. solid front axle only.
