I think I'll have a chance to use my new 6ft SS sander tomorrow. What's a good starting point opening for the sand chute? Was thinking to start it at about 1/2 open and see how much material it spreads. I'm spreading 80/20% sand/salt. Really wished it was settable from the cab, but oh well. Where do you guys generally run with them?

On this unit the fully closed position will leave roughly 1/2" opening allowing material to flow to the spinner when the conveyor is engaged. I know that for many users this setting will work well in most cases. I would recommend this as your starting point and see whether it is at the application rate you prefer. JMO

Tom, Thanks for the info. I'll start with it fully closed. I'm looking forward to using my new toy tonight :)
