I recently discovered that the pushplates on my 02 Silverado have worked loose over time and caused the mount holes to become very elongated. Has anyone fixed this problem before?

I am planning on welding some 1/4" steel to the inside of the frame and re-drilling the holes, just wondering if this is the best option?

You can oversize the holes for larger bolts.
