THANK YOU to the above (and everyone else who replied/helped me out) for their input on the threads I created seeking advice. Since several asked me to advise what I decided on getting I just picked up my truck today (Sat. 11-11-00) after having the plow and spreader installed. The following is what I will be using this winter:

    2001 Ford F350 SD with V10
    Fisher 8.5' EZ-V adjustable V-plow
    Fisher Model 2000 Swing-Away Spreader
    (2) Honda HS520 snowthrowers
    Joined S.I.M.A.

Of course I was able to accomplish other aspects (such as liability insurance, pricing ideas, and so forth) from everyone's informative threads and replies.

THIS FORUM has been very useful in giving me ideas as well as looking at things differently. I have also enjoyed the humor that many of you have displayed!

Sorry for this being long winded. Just wanted to send out a THANK YOU and let those who gave input see what I decided to do.

Sounds like you now have a nice set-up, have fun and make some $$$$

You're all set Ed. You have a winning combination. That's what this forum is all about, sharing ideas, experiences, and opinions. Readers can draw their own conclusions. Actually Ed, you asking the questions that you did, also helped many more people who just come here and read. Since this site has an archive of posts, those threads can also help people in the future! Since you joined SIMA, you can expect even more resources and help too.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!

Good luck with the new truck and equipment I know that you are gonna love it.Let me know how you like the fisher speed caster.I have one on my truck and it works great love being able to put sand and salt in it instead of just light materials. Now we just need some of the white stuff.

John I have a sc2 and they are not bad just a mini version of a v box.I just get 5 gal buckets filled and just toss them in takes a min to load.If you have alot of area to do then v box would be better,sc2 is all poly sides and belt drive I have a backhoe and would be easy for me to load v box was almost ready to get a smith stainless electric 8' long.
