    Did anyone notice this?

I happened to observe that the plow controls are exactly the same, whether the small joystick type or the Fishstick type.

Then I read the back of the brochures for both, both are owned by the same company.

Actually, this is good... it means that the parent company is strong, so Fisher (my personal fav, built like a Russian tank) and Western (also looks very strong) will continue to be big players in the market.

Just wondered if anybody else noticed this. It's a good thing!

Yes, Douglas Dynamics owns both companies. Both are great plows!

In terms of pumps and wiring everything is basically the same. True for Spreaders and V-plows as well.

The big differences, are the mounting frames, and Western (full trip) & Fisher (trip edge) plow.

Also not well known is the majority owner of DD is HK Holdings
Inc. (Which was once known as HK Steel corp.and another
    name before that).

The major stockholder is a old guy named Louis Berkman.
Who owns by Louis Berkman Co. who wholly
    owns Meyers/Diamond/Swenson spreaders also.....................

So I guess untill recently Louis Berkman controlled the snow
    plow market !
Louis Berkman is still alive and his age is 93 give or take a
few years depending on which bio you read.............

But as you know Douglas Dynamics was sold to a private
    investment group recently....................geo
