fellas question on trans. fluid

    i have heard that if the trans has over 100,000 miles on it and hardly ever changed its better to leave it alone and not change it. and if you changed it when your supposed too then its ok to change it. any truth to this?

    Change it!

    The filter should be changed, and you have to take the pan off for that.

    By not changing the fluid, you increase the risk of sticking valves and servos, which is the most common cause for trans failure. When this happens, it starts slipping and wearing out the clutch packs rapidly.

    There is absolutely no reason to not change it.
