Company wants us to bid per storm total.. not per season or per push, but PER storm total including salt... Little hard to estimate that and we've never bid that way prior.

I think they want to curb salt costs but that will just balloon their total storm price. Last year, our office "missed" billing them a few salts and it appeared we included it in their storm push price... so maybe thats where this is coming from.

Sounds like they only want salt after all plowing is over

just divide the $ you need to make on the property by the # of times you serviced them and mutliply by x factor. In other words you made 10k last year and plowed them 10 times. Charge them 1300 per storm. This is not an exact method just an approximation. You have the #'s from previous years and know what it takes.
Bottom line is you've gotta take a job that will make you a profit.

Find out what they consider a storm also.I'd still give them a seasonal bid to,just so they can compare and tell them how it' s easier to budget for the winter.
