Never let family borrow your vehicle.Lent my younger bother my 97 Dodge Ram 2500 for a month, i get it back with the engine light on and the oil level just barely touching the bottom of the dip stick. The problem is i'm hearing a knocking sound not sure if its coming from a lifter or the bottom end. I'm going to do an oil change, but is there additive i should put in, say like Restore or Lucas? If so whats the best one?

    Thanks Brad

What could have been edited from tha?t:D

I hate to agree with bribri:waving:
Time to let her go, trading in may be the easiest route.

To cover up a noise run the heaviest oil you can and sell sell sell.

Next, slap your bro in the back of the head.
    Give him a good one.:realmad:
Then ask him why was he racing it or running it with the RPM's so high.

But first was the oil level where it needed to be before your bro got a hold of it?
