Engine Knock

    Ive got a 1988 k2500 just bought it , the engine knocks or ticks for that case, dunno why might be a lifter any1 have any ides plz lemme kno

    No after its running then whenever you give it gas bought it like that seems to be a lifter

    Is the exhaust leaking anywhere?? If the manifolds are bad or the gaskets, you could get a "ticking" sound from it. But it could be a lifter or a rocker arm going kaput.

    Yea its not the exhaust, sounds like a lifter

    For that matter, it could be a rod bearing, or broken piston skirt, or several other things. Finishing up putting in a re-built BB today that started as only a small tick.

    hi ya,i betcha a hi5 its either loose bolts on the tranny bellhousing,or loose/missing torkk convetre bolts of faulty crank damper pulley..my opinon
