Does anyone know where I can locate books on decoding engine numbers and castings on Chevy motors. I looked online and found some useful sites, but nothing I really need. I have some swap meet parts that may have some history behind them. Stuff like intakes and heads. It would be nice to know what they were connected to. I seen books listed for sale on this subject before, but can't remember where. CRS snydrome. Thanks Chevy.

Summit Racing used to sell a 1955 - 1991 Small Block Casting number book.

Online, you can look up big block and small block casting numbers at www.mortec.com

i have several books that have casting numbers in them.
2 are from s-a design, 3 are from motorbooks international, and 2 are from h-p books.

i bought them at local bookstores, take a look.
