Anyone running a Harder V-box? I want to know if the motor is different then the one Downeaster uses? Better would be if I could get the specs on the motor. IE. HP, RPM, etc off the plate. IF anyone could help me here I would appreciate it.

Sorry for the delay, but it took a few days for me to remember to look.
    here are the specs.
1/3 hp. sounds low, but that is what the tag said
    12V
    1800 rpm
12 torque, I am assuming that menas ft lbs
    27 amps
also it uses a 50:1 reduction gear box to help compensate for the meager HP output. I have never had a problem tho with the unit working, or spreading even the dampest sand mix.

    I hope that helps.

i have the spreader that fits to the back of an insert dump......called easy sand...........actually made by downeaster.........so this is actually not a v-box tpe but more similar to an under tailgate unit, electric none-the-less

    auger motor
    1/3 hp
    12v
    39 amps

    spinner motor
    ? hp
    12v
    11 amps

auger uses a worm screw in a gear box not sure of the rduction
    the spinner is direct drive
