Removed the pilot and check tonight and found the pilot lightly rusty and the NEW on is a half thousand (.0005) bigger than the old one . What is the fit suppose to be ? The groves are also a little different as well.
Also removed the check ball and spring on the bottom and it all so is a little rusty. The new spring is Half of the old one as well ..

    Any help would be appreciated

What p/n did you buy for replacement pieces? Sure you didn't end up with parts for the newer style valve blocks (E58 etc)?

Was told it was for a E-47, but will get number offParts bag tomarrow and let you know . So what should the fit be. Press, tap metal to metal or slip fit ?

When everything is right the piston should move smoothly (but not sloppy) in the bore with just finger pressure. If it's too tight the spring can't return it but if it's very sloppy it will lodge in the bore.

Just more of a feel than anything.

15609 is the correct piston. Be sure the bore is clean and free of any roughness and install it. Most times its necessary to polish the new piston with some 400 grit paper to get it to work smoothly in the bore, a "custom fit" more or less.
