Can anyone give me a little info on R permits and or weight permits in NYS. I currently own a 6 wheel dump 30.000 GVW but am looking into a 10 Wheeler. I am very confused about the requirements that i would need to run this truck besides a CDL. Thanks

I'm an excavator in NY.I don't think you would need any permit as long as you keep legal, meaning under the trucks GVW,tire load, axle load, and registered weight.Just to be safe though,go to the NY dot website and find today's latest requirements for being a happy trucker in our wonderful over-regulated state.

On that weight you may need a IFTA sticker if you cross state lines
