    Bought a spreader off craigslist.
needed an engine, so automatic conversion to electric was in order
Also needed a spinner shaft, so decided that I would give a try and create a removable shute and spinner.
I have paid others to do this conversion in the past but wanted to do this one myself.
I also wanted to give a try with out any welding so that anyone with basic mechanical skills could bolt together this assembly.
    I used 24" of 1 " keyed shaft
16 Tooth sprocket at the top ( may have to change to a 12 tooth once I field test unit)
    love joy connector
4- 4inch centers pillow block bearings
    2-4 inch stainless steel hinges
Went together in less than 2 hrs
I cut the extra flaps and baffles out of the shute, I find they are useless
Next located where I wanted to cut shute, cut shute where hinges would be mounted. Mounted hinges
Drilled holes for 2 extra bearings
mounted all bearings and slid shaft into position
Mocked up love joy connector cuts on shaft
Cut shaft, installed love joy connectors on shaft
    cut remainder of of shute
Installed upper portion of shute assembly
lined up top sprocket on shaft with gear box sprocket
    cut and install sprocket
    cut and install drive chain
cut and drill bottom of shaft and install spinner

Easy way to create a hub assembly for urethane spinners
4" pipe floor flange with 1" pipe nipple
Drill hole, and 2.5" spring pin to hold in place
    Easy peasy lemon squeezy

Nice job. I like the simple aproach.(no welding) quick and easy. Hope you get lots of use out of it.
