If so, what do you carry, or better yet, What has broken while you were out there???

The only things that I have broken on a spreader is the chain and gearbox. Both times due to frozen sand. Our contract with the local airport required sand only on the airfield. Road salt is not permitted by the FAA.

The gear case was a relatively easiy fix, but the chain was horrible. Of course I had the hopper full with about 2.5 yards of frozen sand. Had to shovel out by hand. Man did that suck!

BTW- the chute, spinner and corresponding tin work were often subject to mysterious impacts, but I swear I never hit anything!
