I just bought a 98 Dodge Ram 360 automatic. Driving at highway speeds if I hit a bump the torque converter comes out of lockup momentarily. The motor revs about 500 rpm when this happens. I have checked the fluid, it is full, bright pink, and has no scorched smell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your brake light switch.Stepping on the brakes will unlock the convertor,so it may be the switch is a little over sensitive,or incorrectly adjusted.

Also check for loose or corroded connections at the trans,TP sensor, and the PCM.
