Do We Need A Bashing Forum On Plowsite?

Everday I see people that are fed up with all the bashing on here and are leaving this site. These are good people from post I've read. It doesn't matter what kind of truck you drive, what plow you use, what beer you drink, etc.

We should help a brother out when they need it. It's great to look at trucks
and read good & bad times associated w/ plowing. If someone is new or young in age in this business, they shouldn't be bashed about it. I think it's great to see someone get into this business and ask the pros about it.

So maybe we should have a bashing forum, that way, when you feel the need to bash someone, you can take it to that forum and let them have it. Then keep the rest of forums less full of BS. Now I know maybe your not "gettin' any", or you can't just go kick your dog. just take it easy a little, before we lose anymore pros and lose valuable help when needed.

Sadly enough, it seems to be the thing to do as it happens on just about all of the forums that I visit/belong to. I think it makes one feel better about themselves, plus it's a pretty manly thing to do when no one knows who you are so therefore they can't kick the living dog**** out of you. RELAX is the cure.

There will always be those that feel upstaged or do not understand something posted by someone else so it must be wrong and they will bash them to make themselves feel better and less insecure about it. These sites are supossed to be about exchanging ideas and sharing experances, not who is "better" or "smarter".

I would say that everyone has BAD days and get's piss off from time to time and a lot time people say or write things they wouldn't normally do.
We just have to remember that it is not personal. It's only everyday life, and at the end of the day, we are all still buddies, and if we see one another, we still wave and help out a fellow buddy who is broke down or in need.
    SO LETS <img src="http://www.plowsite.com/images/smilies/drinkup.gif">

I agree with Mickman all the way. I think we're all a little edgy from lack of snow and that erupts on here. Plus the "my god's dick is bigger than your god's dick" has been going on way too often. Too bad we all couldn't go out drinkin sometime

I don't see much bashing at all. Only once, so please, if you hate fake boobs on women, don't mention it, as people here seem to think if you hate implants, you must be gay.

    I agree

    I agree with MICKMAN.... :waving:

I've only been here a few months and noticed an increase in the "brand" Bashing. Mainly it's the "my brand is better than your brand bit." It gets tiring, especially when the original post asked a question that needed a good answer, not a bunch of brand loyality rants.

No one "brand" does everything well (though some brands tend to be built a bit better at times) as some are better suited to certain tasks than others are. If I only plowed smooth blacktop all the time I would likely use different equipment that I do now.

I don't think Mickman means the Boss vs. Blizzard, or Ford vs. Chevy conversations. I think he is talking about the name calling, finger pointing and that type of crap that seems to be happening alot lately. Of course there's going to be disagreements but sometimes people just have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Just because someone runs there business differently doesn't mean they're going to be a failure and be bashed for it. Just use the forums the way they're meant to be used, learn some things, help some guys out, chat about things in common, etc. No need to try and prove your manhood over the internet, in fact I doubt it would happen if we were all face to face.

    Thank you UPNORTH
You see, we can act like the pros we are. And it looks like you all agree.
Now I wasn't trying to be Dr. Phil or anything, just wanted to get some peeps
to lay off some. I own 2 chevy's & F350 stroker [so I can please both worlds]
    {sorry, I can't afford Dodges,toyota's, etc.too}

I have been a member of plow site for about 5 yrs. now. And as you can see,
I don't have alot of post. I read all of your questions & inputs, and I get alot of useful info. Or I'll do a search and most of the time I find what I'm looking

So THANKS to all of you for your helping of others whom are just as eager,
lacked of experience as we were once upon of time.

One thing I can see is newer members need to use the "search feature".

Every day I see new threads that have been discussed before and are saved in the archives. Many of the old threads have posts by members that aren't here any longer but still provide great information.

My advice, before making a new post, do a search. Your questions may be answered with a little reading and save the site some space.

I think the bashing, name calling, ect. ect. is held to a minimum here.
You want to find crap like that, go find a site that is full of female posters. My wife has let me read some threads from a site she belongs to, man they just get plain ugly.

    Just my .02

    Bashing !!!

I don*t GO for for BASHING PEOPLE!-- But -- Discussing Equipment is OK I think?--Back in the 60s when I Bought My first PLOW there were NOT as many Brands as TODAY!--Fisher & Myers were the Only Choices & lets NOT Forget! theres many aspects to Buyng Any-Thing! as to where YOU get a Good Deal?--the MAKE is Secondary to the People You deal with!--PRICE is the Big Consideration! & lets NOT Forget Location!--in referance to Availibility? Parts? & Service! I*M in Central MAINE-Augutsa-35 miles West of Rockland--HOME of FISHER Engineering!--& Plowers Know! FISHER makes a very Good Product! But-I Like the Older Style w/ the Pump & Oil Tank in the Engine Compartment & being a Retiree & realizing I in All Honesty! Couldn*t Afford a NEW FISHER! or any Other NEW Make for that Matter! I got My FISHER in a Salvage Yard! by Removeing Parts & Pieces from a Dozen or More? Junked 4X4s & being a retired Trucker I went to My dealer Locally that Serviced my Big Truck & the Parts MAN! went Way Out of His WAY! to Assist ME!--& Little by Little each Month I bought the Pieces I needed! & Now have as Good Plow as a New One? looks GOOD! & Works GREAT! But I Did have a Few Select WORDS for FISHER!--as their Rattle Can FISHER Yellow Paint Cost over $8.00 a CAN! a Bit STEEP I Figure?--& Looking Over the many New makes of Plows that I have seem They All look Pretty Good to ME! I Guess? It all Depends ON How Deep Your Wallet Is! & How LAZY YOU Are? in Picking a MAKE!--& what? Your Gonna Put It ON? So the Bottom Line IS! theres Many Many things to Consider??? In Picking a Make?--& I think? the People One Deals With is the Most Important Thing?--Ole JIM--

I think we do need a bashing spot so people can hash it out instead of hiding
    behind that "NEW" point thing

This is the one of the smartest ideas that anyone has ever posted. I not only am reluctant but will not usually post a reply because of the wise A##es that only want to stir sh## and not talk like adults. This site is for people to learn and us to exchange ideas and experiences. It is fastly turning into a bashing chat room. SOMETHING FOR THE ADMINISTRATORS TO TAKE CONTROL OF.
I started doing this (snow removal ) back in the late 1960s with my dads snow shovel and have worked up to where I am today. I don't have the most experience or the best equipment but it's all mine (paid for) allot of people would like to own or be in the situation I have worked myself and family into but every time I post a reply I get some wise-ass bashing me like I'm some idiot. Are these people that bold when you meet them face to face I DOUBT IT they hide behind their keyboards and log in names. I have never dealt with or tried to build my business on bull ****. I am not about to start now. The administrators need to kick them off the board and lets get down to business.
Has anyone ever counted the years of actual experience pushing snow or mowing grass that is on these sites. That counts the most and will help everyone involved. Is'nt that what were here for? If someone will not take time to explain themselves properly then they need not reply. Sorry again for sounding like one of the bashes but I needed to vent. Ron

I don't have too many beefs. I don't care for the constant brand-bashing but that is all too common on the net. I usually just let it in one ear and out the other. The most I will do is add my two cents, why I feel that way (NOT based on opinion, based on fact and experience), and then I'll USUALLY walk away.

I would say my biggest single beef on here is people who don't spell properly and can't be bothered using the spell check, poor grammar, but the single worst one are the posts that are so hard to read because they are using capitals where they don't belong, no or poor punctuation, or similar things. I tend to skip over a lot of those posts and as a result maybe I miss good information, but those posts hurt my eyes trying to read them when there is a lot of them.... gets kind of annoying. I know there are others who agree. Not trying to be a dick either... but like others have said we are all adults and should be as professional online as we would dealing with a customer in real life.

And your don't make fun of your coworker or friends in the business? Ford better then Chevy, Chevy better than Dodge, Dodge better than Ford Who cares. They're all Junk. There is very little bashing on this board compared to most. At least there are no K33L DuD3s here.

Nextells are one of the funniest ways to embarrass your friends. It works best when they in the mall or with their girl friend/wife
