    Dear Friends,
I am looking for any and all ideas to allow the successfully mounting of a Western Uni-Mount system to a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado PU truck. This would need be an essentially homemade design. The mount was originally on a Dodge PU truck removed and placed on a Ford f-150 PU truck and now hopefully mounted on the Chervrolet. The reasons for the removals had only to do with the passing beyond repair of the trucks.
We have very good access to most all types of tools and welding skills.
We have learned a huge amount of plowing information from this site over a short time.
The site and it's members can't be beat. We would really appreciate any and all help.

Best place to start is Westerns site. Look up a 62330 mount dto get an idea of how the built the mount to fit the truck.

I can tell you that one of the weakest points on the truck was the end of the frames, make sure that you use some type of support inside of the frame along with what you do on the outside of it.

    Dear Crash935,
Thanks for the reply. Good idea. Did not know the info regarding the weakness at the end of the frames. Will most certainly incorporate this knowledge into upcoming design.
    Best wishes.
