Crossover valve

    Is there a trick on gettitng the entire valve out?

    Assume you're referring to the cage thats left in the bottom after all the small parts are removed. A long self tapping screw and a mini slide hammer works well, a set of vise grips will do the job too if you don't have a mini slide hammer.

    The O-rings behind the cage hold them in there good sometimes so clamp the pump in a vice to save you from having to chase it all over the bench. :D

    how would i get vice grips in there to pull it out

    Thats why I stated to use a long self tapper. Use one that protrudes from the valve block far enough to grab it with the vise grips, then pry on the vise grips with a large screwdriver.
